DC Students for a Democratic Society is the DC chapter of the national organization, most popularly known by red letters "sds" in a black circle, This logo includes the DC flag, and reflects the prevailing politics of the group with its black background. It was important to create a logo that was easily hand-drawn.

CCLeft is/was the Connecticut College union of Leftist students. Note the arrow pointing left and the two C's. It was important that the logo be bold, easily hand-drawn, and recognizable without labelling.

DC SDS projected films onto an abandoned house on Georgia Avenue and Morton for monthly film screenings, called "Walk-In Theater."
